Haemanthus albiflorus (syn. albiflos)
Paint Brush
Plant Type:
BULBSHaemanthus albiflorus (syn. albiflos) - This is another really cool African bulb in the Amaryllidaceae with broad tongues of leaves and fleshy flowering stems topped with large, fat white brushes with a heavy speckling of yellow anthers. Paintbrush, one of its common names, will make a good greenhouse or windowsill candidate in an east exposure. Grow it tight - Paintbrush is especially handsome in a clay pot. The broad tongues of leaves are evergreen and quite handsome - very nice in the ground - creating a tropical looking ground cover of bold leaves over time where it can be grown outdoors. Let it go relatively dry between waterings. Established pot grown bulb(s).
From Joseph O. (ME) on 5.25.2016: It is amazing, thanks so much!!!
